How they are arranged

In the order the city itself is layered: the Roman hill of Fourvière and its theatres; the Renaissance city of Vieux Lyon below it; then across the Saône to the squares of the Presqu'île; up the silk weavers' hill of the Croix-Rousse; and over the Rhône to the park, the market and the birthplace of cinema.

⭐ Several of the best things here are simply streets you walk — the traboules, the quays, the slopes.
