The Presqu'île
⭐ The tongue of land between the rivers: Bellecour, the Terreaux, the shopping streets and the grand nineteenth-century blocks. The most central place to stay, and flat.
The Croix-Rousse
The silk weavers' hill to the north — the slopes with their traboules and small restaurants, and the plateau with its own market and village feel.
Across the Rhône
The east bank: the elegant Brotteaux beside the Tête d'Or, the Part-Dieu business district and its station, the market at Les Halles, and the lively Guillotière. Further south, the rebuilt Confluence district, where the rivers meet.
